FUEL Your Financial Future:  Achieving Financial Security With Industry Expert Andrew Long Today we find ourselves facing financial situations that are more complex and less predictable than we had once anticipated.  In light of these changing conditions, what should we be doing to plan for our financial future?  In his presentation, Andrew Long will discuss the current economic setting and share how we can adequately prepare for our future. About Andrew Long Originally from Manchester, England, Andrew studied at the Universities of Exeter (UK) and Wollongong (Australia).  After spending a formative year in the trenches as a door-to-door salesman in Australia he returned to England to join the military and was accepted into the prestigious Britannia Royal Naval College at Dartmouth.  He graduated with honors, earning his Commission and a nomination for the Commander’s Sword for Excellence, before serving on worldwide operations as a Warfare Officer, Navigator and Mine Clearance Diver. Andy left the Royal Navy in 2003 and moved to the United States with his wife Hilary.  They settled in Santa Barbara where Andy joined insurance firm Ogilvy-Hill as an assistant account manager in the Personal Lines Department.  He quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the premier client consultants dealing with high net worth risk management in Santa Barbara, transitioning into a unique dual role of Commercial and Personal Lines production. Andy was recruited by the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network in 2006 to build a practice and help establish a presence for the financial services giant in Santa Barbara.  Building on his success and contacts at Ogilvy-Hill, Andy immediately established a learning partnership with Northwestern Mutual legends Wayne Gilbert and Dan Parrish and set about becoming the most successful new Northwestern Mutual Representative west of Colorado.  Committed to constant education and the development of his practice Andy became a Registered Investment Advisor with Northwestern Mutual Investment Services, LLC in 2009. Now with offices in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles, Andy works primarily with high net worth families, business owners, and young executives, taking a conservative and intelligent approach to responsibly and effectively manage their overall financial strategies. Andy is passionate about endurance sport and competes in long course triathlons and trail marathons around the country.  Andy lives in Santa Barbara with his wife Hilary and their daughter, Zara. 0

Member Spotlight: Jesse Brisendine #large_image:198# Carpe Diem, or, Seize the Day! To me this is what training and exercise is all about. I absolutely love fitness and love helping people, and love working as a personal trainer. I graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara obtaining a degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in Personal training. I also have certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF), APEX Fitness Group, among others. I'm just like every single one of you out there in that I have/had dreams of transforming my body and transforming my life. I went through all the stages; from being overweight, being underweight, being shy, to being insecure… discovering a love for exercise gave me the life I have today. So for me, personal training is just that, personal! I know first hand how losing the extra 10 lbs, or running a little faster, or jumping a little higher can positively affect your emotional well being. This is what I believe and emphasize to all my clients. “If you are feeling good mentally and emotionally about what you are doing, then the body WILL change.” I've worked as a personal trainer and fitness manager at 24 Hour Fitness for two and a half years prior to joining the Conditioning Specialists team. MARMALADE CAFÉ A FAVORITE DINING SCENE AT LA CUMBRE PLAZA Santa Barbara, Calif. – Marmalade Café, an Innovative California restaurant, opened its doors in 2007 by serving complimentary meals to La Cumbre Plaza business owners and their employees, who enjoyed savoring samples of their vast menu. During the Jesusita Fire the staff provided food and beverages to the fire fighters and law enforcement officials. “We are extremely pleased with the positive response we are receiving from the locals who work and shop here. Squire "World Perceptions" at CASA Gallery (23 E. Canon Perdido behind Borders) Please join us to celebrate the exquisite lacquer paintings from Squires' travels through Vietnam and Cambodia. Morris B. Squire is a local artist and philanthropist who has been making work for over six decades.  As his sole occupation was in administrative psychiatry, he practiced painting and sculpting for as many years and is still producing art at 85.  The Morris B. As of May 12, two Red Cross emergency shelters had  been set up, which housed over 800 people at the peak of evacuations.  Red Cross volunteers have served over 18,000 meals and snacks to the  affected residents and emergency personnel so far, and distributed 65  clean-up kits. This number is likely to go up as the clean up efforts  are just beginning. In addition, Red Cross health and mental health  services volunteers are offering professional help to those who need  it in these hard times.
